Why 73

You have undoubtedly noticed the liberal use of '73' as a tag on various House related things.

In amateur radio, '73' means 'best regards'. It's a friendly salute, so to speak.

For House Syrron, it is a textual representation of the House symbol and brand fully collared submissives receive. The symbol, in turn, was derived from My personal signature. Original ideas for the House symbol would have been closer to My signature, and could have been represented in text as '793'.

The '793' sketch was done only once, and I later drew on a now former submissive with a marker the symbol later referred to as the "signature 73".  I fell in love with it -- it 'felt right' -- and the rest, as they say, is history.

I later discovered a sitcom called The Big Bang Theory.  Dr. Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory, played by actor Jim Parsons, said "The best number is 73. Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror (37) is the 12th and its mirror (21) is the product of multiplying, 7 and 3.  In binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001 which backwards is 1001001."

Sheldon's roommate, Leonard Hofstadter, then quips that "73 is the Chuck Norris of numbers," to which Sheldon replies: "Chuck Norris wishes. [...]all Chuck Norris backwards gets you is Sirron Kcuhc!"

(And no, this is not the origins of My name "Syrron"...)

Fast forward to the spring of 2013, and I began sketching 73's on My new toy, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.  Without meaning to, I came up with some variations of the 73 that stood out.  It would be July, 2013 before I finally picked the new "graffiti 73" as the House standard.

The "signature 73" was officially retired by amendment of the Protocols of House Syrron on April 15, 2015.  The final iteration of that logo was in an unauthorized tattoo that has been since covered.
